Josiah is a freelance Cinematographer, Director and Photographer based in Denver Colorado. He’s been working in the video production industry for the past 10 years and couldn’t be happier doing it!

He began making videos in high school with friends for fun. They’d get together and create short videos and tell stories with a mini dv camera. “We didn’t know what we were doing but our little group of friends loved the aspects of collaborating and creating something together. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for telling stories. It was the spark that led me on the path to where I am today.”

Josiah went to college at Columbia College in Chicago. While there he learned more about the industry and got to meet other like minded students who all wanted the same thing. To tell stories and to create. While he only attended school there for a year, it gave him a peak into the industry and really sold him on the idea that he was on the right path.

Shortly after college he began working at a small startup production company in Indiana. There he learned about all aspects of production. He shot short films, commercial work and weddings. He wore multiple hats and learned the ins and outs of directing, producing, shooting and editing. He quickly learned that there was so much more to creating a video than holding a camera and pressing record.

He worked there for 5 years and grew a lot. He quickly realised that there were two things that he loved doing most. Cinematography and Directing. He liked focusing on those aspects and decided to pursue those talents as a freelancer. So in 2017 he moved out west from Indiana to Denver Colorado where he quickly began freelancing for several agencies and production companies here in town.

He’s now working as a Cinematographer and Director here in Denver as well as across the country. He’s currently represented by Image Brew as a Director. He was added to their roster in the fall of 2019. Most of his work is focused in the fashion and lifestyle space.

From high key studio work to dark and dramatic looks, he loves it all. “To me the most important thing is how to create the right look for a brand and how push a story forward and connect with the audience. Taking the time to craft the look and feel of a project is paramount. And that’s why I work closely with creative agencies and production companies to execute the story of a brand and help bring it to life on the screen.”
